FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

“Can you tell me who tested positive for COVID-19 so I know how close I was to this person?”
Because of health privacy laws, we cannot disclose who tested positive or where they were sitting in the classroom.

“What should I do with this information?”
You can use this information to make decisions about masking, testing, and vaccination.

If you wish to be tested for COVID-19, you can make an appointment through Student Health or use the walk-in testing site at Cass County Public Health (details on both here). If you opt to get tested, you should wait until Day 5 following the exposure for more accurate results.

The university encourages all students and employees to get vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccine is a safe and effective way to reduce your odds of serious illness or asymptomatic transmission to others (“Why College Students Should Get a COVID-19 Vaccine”). Vaccine information from the North Dakota Department of Health, including a vaccine locator is available here. Students can receive free vaccinations at Student Health Service by appointment, which can be scheduled by calling 701-231-7331. Any future vaccine clinics on campus will be announced by email.
