At the NDSU School of Nursing at Sanford Health – Bismarck, students are part of a close community filled with hands-on learning opportunities.

“When I walk through the doors, it feels like home,” said sophomore Joy Giciro. “NDSU Nursing at Sanford Health is a place to learn and grow.”

Many students choose the program because small class sizes create a personal learning environment. Students are able to build relationships with peers and receive one-on-one attention from faculty. NDSU’s nursing program in Fargo also provides strong student/faculty interaction, collaborative learning experiences and research opportunities.

“The Bismarck faculty want you to excel in life, and that shows in their attitudes and genuine kindness,” said senior Zach Bauck.

The programs are interactive and offer a mix of classroom, clinical and hands-on learning experiences. Being right next to Sanford Health in Bismarck, North Dakota, students are immersed into the hospital environment and have convenient access to clinical rotations.

The nursing faculty incorporate group discussions, case studies and simulations into the curriculum to give students a chance to apply their knowledge. Students are able to practice caring for patients and discuss ways to improve, which builds confidence prior to providing actual care.

“At the Bismarck nursing program, we focus on all aspects of nursing,” said Bauck. “No stone is left unturned when learning about nursing care and competency.”

The NDSU School of Nursing offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice/Family Nurse Practitioner programs. The programs are accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education and aim to fill the need for nurses in North Dakota.
